My mom met Dia Masi on a plane almost 20 years ago, and they instantly became friends. During her cancer journey, she stayed completely positive and extremely hopeful, even through a life-or-death situation. It teaches us that we can be positive and confident through any storms that happen in our lives. That is why we're supporting this organization, to help other kids and grownups who are suffering.
I chose this organization because it supports Black LGBTQ+ women through the arts. This really resonated with me because I am so into the arts, and finding a space to express my creativity is never something I have had to worry about. Since it's also Juneteenth and Pride Month, I think that with everything everybody went through in the history of our country, and continues to endure, this place is helping counter it by giving people access to the arts. I really want to use my birthday and this website to make people aware of amazing organizations that can really benefit the world.
Girls all around the world, including ones around here, are all going through puberty, and alone, with no help, no family, and sometimes no parents! My mom did a piece on the girl who started it Dana Marlow. I loved the idea, which is why in Carpers farm I will be doing a donation flyer soon in Carper's farm to donate to the box. I support the girls is a remarkable donation!
Every single girl, boy, woman, and man has some sort of story, and some sort of dream! Including you, what type of dream do you have, do you want to be a model or a singer when you grow up, do you want to be a doctor or an astronaut, do you want to study science, art, maybe a dancer, or a soccer player?
Whatever dream it is, we want to do it because this hobby or dream makes us happy.
Soccer players do it because of their love for soccer, doctors do it because they want to save lives! We have jobs so we can have a house, and make a living. But the reason you can achieve your goals and dreams is because of school.
But in Afghanistan girls are not allowed to go to school, and school is the number one thing in our lives that keeps our mind growing. School is the only way to accomplish our dreams! We may think of school as boring and exhausting, but it is really a privilege to go to school. And I think every Afghan girl should have some sort of chance to realize their dreams.
